Section 1: Vice-President Duties
1. In the case of President’s absence, the Vice-President shall preside over all meetings.
2. The Vice-President shall assist the President in all Booster club business.
3. The Vice-President shall be the tie/breaker on all tied votes.
4. If the President resigns or is not able to complete their term, the Vice-President
will assume all powers of the President.
5. The Vice-President shall not hold any coordinator position.
Article 8: Treasurer
Section 1: Treasurer Duties:
1. The Treasurer shall maintain all funds of the Des Allemands Booster Club.
2. It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to deposit funds and maintain accurate
records of all funds and transactions.
3. The Treasurer shall attend all scheduled meetings and have in their possession
records of all club finances. If unable to attend, the Treasurer must have
such records available to the President.
4. The Treasurer shall submit a financial statement to the DABC members at
all membership meetings.
5. The Treasurer is authorized to sign checks from the club account as directed
by the Board of Directors, a second signature must be by another Board
member, not closely related.
6. The Treasurer shall be responsible for changing check-signing privileges as
new officers are elected or appointed.
7. The Treasurer shall surrender any and all documents upon removal from
office or retirement.
Article 9: Secretary
Section 1: Secretary Duties
1. The Secretary shall record and keep all records, books, or other information
important to the operation of the club, carefully preserving and filing all papers,
books and/or other documents that may be entrusted to the Secretary by the
President of the club.
2. The Secretary shall be responsible for all correspondence issues.
3. The Secretary shall be the keeper of all club membership records.
4. The Secretary shall make available for inspection to any club member in
good standing any or all records that pertain to the operation of the club.
5. The Secretary, if unable to attend a meeting, shall make available all
records to conduct a meeting.
6. The Secretary shall record and keep minutes of all meetings.
7. The Secretary shall surrender any and all documents upon removal or
retirement from office.
8. The Secretary shall supply applications and necessary materials for all
registrations. If the Secretary cannot attend, arrangements shall be made
by him/her for someone else to assume this duty.
9. The Secretary shall produce, finalize, and turn in all rosters and necessary
paperwork into the St. Charles Recreation Department for all sports.
10. The Secretary shall obtain a list of all coaches’ and players’ phone numbers
with addresses from each Sports Coordinator for each sport after coach
selections to keep on file.
11. The Secretary shall provide any new Board Members with a current copy
of the DABC bylaws.
12. The Secretary is responsible for the arrangement of monthly meetings.
13. The Secretary shall update DABC bylaws and provide the Board Members
with current updated DABC bylaws.
14. The Secretary shall provide monthly meeting minutes.
Article 10: OTS Representative
Section 1: OTS (Organized Team Sports) Representative Duties
1. The OTS Representative shall be knowledgeable of all recreation and booster
club sports rules and regulations.
2. The OTS Representative shall be the mediator between the club and recreation
department on all issues that affect sport rules and regulations.
3. The OTS Representative shall be available at all OTS meetings to answer
sports questions, take booster club concerns to the recreation department, and
to inform the club of any and all rule changes. If unable to attend a scheduled
OTS meeting, the OTS Representative will make arrangements for
another Board member to attend in his/her absence.
4. The OTS Representative shall be knowledgeable and inform the club of all
“All Star” activities and rules.
5. If the OTS Representative is unable to attend a DABC Board meeting, they
shall make available to the President all information that may be useful to
the booster club.
Article 11: Field / Equipment Manager
Section 1: Field / Equipment Managers Duties
1. Maintain and distribute sports equipment.
2. Work with the coaches of each sport to ensure they have their necessary equipment.
3. Address and report the needs of the fields and park to the St. Charles Recreation
Department and the Board. (to include marking of fields, bases, bathroom,
lighting, garbage, grass cutting, etc. issues)
4. Collect all equipment at the end of the sport season and prepare equipment
inventory report to be given to the Board of Directors at the next appropriate meeting.
Article 12: Sports Coordinator
Section 1: There are multiple roles under the Sports Coordinator role. Each subsequent
Coordinator role will be filled by separate DABC members. The following Sports
Coordinator Duties apply to each individual role.
1. Football Coordinator
2. Basketball Coordinator
3. Baseball Coordinator
4. Softball Coordinator
5. T-Ball Coordinator
Section 2: Sports Coordinator Duties
1. The Sports Coordinator shall identify and notify all coaches after registration
and nominations have been taken and the Board has approved perspective coaches.
2. The Sports Coordinator shall report to the President and Board of Directors
any issues which will affect the sport or Booster Club.
3. The Sports Coordinator shall keep the Board of Directors informed of all activities.
4. The Sports Coordinator shall coordinate the practice fields and practice times for
the coaches of all sports if needed.
5. The Sports Coordinator shall assist in all team drafting and will distribute team
rosters to the coaches and club Secretary.
6. The Sports Coordinator shall distribute to and collect from, the coach’s sports
uniforms when applicable and deliver them to the Uniform Coordinator.
7. The Sports Coordinator shall identify all uniform needs and report these
needs to the Uniform Coordinator and Board of Directors.
8. The Sports Coordinator will decide on how many teams there will be for
each sport season.
9. Conduct the player draft as per the Team Selection guideline in this document,
if needed.
10. Contact other teams for Kick-Off Invitational Tournaments.
11. Work with the Field/Equipment Coordinator to resolve any practice field or
equipment issues.
Article 13: Concessions Coordinator
Section 1: Concessions Coordinator Duties
1. Responsible for maintaining the daily operations of the concession stand.
2. Assignment of persons to work the concession stand daily and at special events.
3. Inventory of Stock.
4. Purchasing product and turning in funds and receipts to the Board Secretary not
to exceed a ten-day period.
5. Daily documentation of start-up and take-in amount.
6. All concession orders are to be approved by the Board President.
Article 14: Uniform Coordinator
Section 1: Uniform Coordinator Duties
1. Responsible for obtaining samples of uniforms for Board approval and registrations.
2. Placing uniform orders and pickups.
3. Work closely with Sports Coordinator prior to each sport beginning to resolve
uniform issues.
4. Contact coaches to pick up uniforms.
5. Storing unused stock and/or uniforms and providing a current stock report at the end
of each sport.
Article 15: Public Relations Coordinator
Section 1: Public Relations Duties
1. Responsible for newspaper articles and photographs publicizing annual meetings,
registrations, special events, championship teams, signage for registrations,
announcements at the DABC park, etc.
2. Ordering of championship signs and posting arrangements.
3. Order sports yard signs to sell at the concession stand.
4. Order, purchase, pick up, and distribute trophies and awards.
5. Liaison between players, parents, coaches and the Board.
Article 16: Cheerleading Coordinator
Section 1: Cheerleading Coordinator Duties
1. Decide on how to divide the cheerleading age brackets.
2. Be responsible for all Homecoming activities in the DABC for each sport,
including raffle ticket sales.
3. Coach and mentor Cheerleading coaches.
4. Work with Uniform Coordinator to ensure uniforms are available.
5. Keep track of and store cheerleading equipment during off-season.
Article 17: Team Selections
Section 1: Coaches shall select teams fairly and equitably. Coaches must agree with the
outcome of the selections. If there is a disagreement, the St. Charles Parish
Recreation Department will make the final decision.
It is in the best interest of the Des Allemands Booster Club that the team selection
process be handled within the organization. If this is not possible, the organization
shall follow the guidelines and recommendations set up by the St. Charles Parish
Recreation Department.
All Teams, boys and girls, which have enough players to have more than one team
shall have a draft at theSt. Charles Recreation Department with a Recreation
Department representative on hand. Any other arrangements must be approved by
the Board of Directors.
Article 18: Membership
Section 1: Membership Requirements
1. A member must live within the district of the DABC.
2. A member must be willing to support all DABC activities.
3. Members shall make every effort to attend all membership meetings and elections.
4. A member must have a child playing in a sport and all dues paid in full. If a
person does not have a child playing in DABC athletic program he/she must
make a written declaration of their desire to be a member of the DABC.
Article 19: Team Coaches
Section 1: Selection of Coaches:
It is the intent of the DABC to make coach selections fair. The Board of Directors must
approve any deviation from the below guidelines.
GUIDELINES FOR COACH SELECTION
According to St. Charles Recreation Department Rules and Regulations, no team can
have more that one head coach and two assistant coaches. Head coaches can have
as many helpers as he or she may need to help during practice sessions.
A DABC coach must:
1. Follow all St. Charles Recreation Department rules and regulations.
2. Follow all Des Allemands Booster Club rules and regulations.
3. Focus on developing good attitudes toward the sport he/she is coaching.
Persons wishing to coach a team should fill out a coach’s application with the Sports
Coordinator before, during, or after registration. The Board of Directors shall vote on all
coaching applications.
Head coaches for teams will be selected by a majority vote of a quorum of the Board
of Directors.
The Head coach shall be responsible for assistant coach selections.
Article 20: General Rules / Voting-Quorum Information
Section 1: Amendments to these Bylaws require a majority vote by a quorum of its Board of
Directors. Recommendation for amendments will be accepted, reviewed and
voted on by the Board of Directors.
Section 2: Championship Jackets- Upon board approval to be awarded to each Championship
Team. The ultimate goal of the Board of Directors is to award championship teams
with jackets for their accomplishments; however, team jackets will not be awarded
in the event that there are not enough funds available, and other arrangements will
be made to recognize the team’s milestone.
Section 3: All-Star Players- the Des Allemands Booster Club will contribute an amount not to
exceed $50.00 per player and no more than $250.00 total to a team consisting of
Des Allemands Recreation Department players who are participating in a State
Championship.

1. The Vice-President votes in the event of a tie.
2. Quorum= 2/3’s of Board of Directors= Need 9 members present to conduct a vote.

4. In the event of a Veto- the Board may override the Veto by a 2/3’s vote of a quorum of Board of Directors.
• 6 members present- 4 must agree
• 8 members present- 5 must agree
• 9 members present- 6 must agree
